Ghana-Germany-Spain-Portugal in 24 Hours... and a Great Dress!

As you read this pre-programmed post, I am jetting from Ghana to Germany to Spain to Portugal over the course of twenty-four hours. Woo hoo!

Thus we launch the Iberian Adventure chapter of this Around the World journey. This will be my last phase of travel before I fly home to Boston in May... to scheme how to fly out again in August!

Though I will be writing extensively about Spain and Portugal over the next month and a half, there are still a bevy of unpublished articles from Ghana that I'll intermittently sprinkle into the mix. This means that you will be getting a scrumptious mix of both Europe and Africa articles, in addition to continued general travel tips for you wanderlusty souls on a budget.

And never fear, oh readers who sniffled that you'll miss the Ghana student life stories: there are more to come!

Finally, remember that gorgeous kente print cloth which Total Child School gave me as thanks for teaching them over the past three months? Oh right-- that gift I scandalously opened in front of the class, not realizing such an action is considered rude in Ghana?

Well, that cloth is now a gorgeous kente print DRESS, custom-sewn for $7 U.S. dollars and pictured here!

What do you think: should I have worn this on the plane?

And in all seriousness: can a gal wear a dress like this to a wedding or two in America this summer, or would it be too culturally confusing to U.S. eyes that are accustomed to sedate grays and browns??

  3. Girl, I say rock that dress to as many weddings as you possibly can -- it looks fabulous on you, and has a beautiful, ready-made story attached.

Besides, how could you stand to be sedate after the adventures you've been having?!
